Immune-Boosting Elderberry Syrup

Whether your kids are heading back to school, co-op, daycare, or just around more people again this is one of the first things I make every fall to stay ahead of cold and flu season.

Ingredients

Method

Turn cooking mode on

Step 1

Add elderberries and water to a pot and bring to a boil.

1 cup Dried elderberries

5 cup Water

Step 2

Simmer for 1 hour.

Step 3

Add ginger, cloves, and cinnamon. Simmer again until reduced to about 2 cups, which takes roughly another hour.

2 inch Fresh ginger

2 tbsp Whole cloves

2 Cinnamon sticks

Step 4

Let it cool completely, then strain.

Step 5

Stir in honey once cooled.

1 1/2 cup Raw local honey

Step 6

Store in the fridge for up to 6 months.
