Homemade Pizza Dough

Turn cooking mode on

Step 1

In a small bowl, combine water, sugar, and yeast. Stir gently and let it sit for about 5-10 minutes until the mixture becomes frothy and bubbly.

Step 2

In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour, salt, and garlic powder. Pour in the activated yeast mixture and olive oil. Stir with a spoon or mix with your hands until the dough comes together. Form dough into a ball.

Step 3

Lightly grease a large bowl with olive oil. Place the dough into the bowl and turn it to coat with oil. Cover the bowl with a clean kitchen towel or plastic wrap. Let the dough rise in a warm place for at least 30 minutes.

Step 4

Preheat your oven to 400°F with a pizza stone if you have one, or a large baking sheet turned upside down.

Step 5

Once the dough has risen transfer it to a lightly floured surface and shape it into a ball. You can leave as one big pizza or remove 1/4 for a small children’s pizza. Roll out each portion of dough into a circle.

Step 6

Transfer the rolled-out dough onto a piece of parchment paper. Brush the edges with olive oil and add your desired toppings.

Step 7

Slide the parchment paper with the pizza onto the preheated pizza stone or baking sheet. Bake for 10-15 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown and the cheese is bubbly and lightly browned.

Step 8

Remove from the oven and let the pizza cool for a few minutes before slicing and serving.
