Homemade Strawberry Syrup

My toddler asked for strawberry milk, and after checking the ingredients in store-bought strawberry syrup, I realized they were missing the most important ingredient — strawberries.

Method

Turn cooking mode on

Step 1

Place the freeze-dried strawberries in a food processor and blend until they become a fine powder.

Step 2

In a small saucepan, combine the strawberry powder, maple syrup, and water.

Step 3

Heat the mixture over medium heat, stirring occasionally.

Step 4

Bring it to a simmer and cook until the syrup thickens to your desired consistency.

Step 5

Strain out the seeds if desired using a mesh strainer.

Step 6

Let the syrup cool before serving.
